Right now Wordpress already released their WordPress 2.7 Release Candidate 1. I think it wil be one step to final version. For your information, the big change wordpress 2.7 compared to previous version is in the dashboard menu. I like the new dashboard. We can controlled almost everything from there like stat, new comment, quick post an etc. I’m sure you will excited for the first time. With the release of RC1, we’re in the final leg of development before the release of 2.7. 280 commits since beta 3 have polished the new admin UI (including new menu icons created by the winners of our icon design contest) and fixed all known blocker bugs. source
